Do not get me improper, I like my new Seiko. I love the way its second hand sweeps smoothly round in the way that mechanical movements do, not ticking loudly like most quartz watches. The gorgeous dial and the fascinating exhibition (clear) backing that reveals the moving gears and beating heart of the watch never fail to mesmerize me. I relish learning about the engineering and horological heritage that goes into creating such watches, and hope mechanical watches by no means go extinct. And possibly my favorite part about carrying it is how seeing the fingers on the analog dial all through the day make me assume about time more as a relative position in the passing of a day than a exact, exact statistic (as I’m wont to think on a digital Seestern Watch).
