When Wizard journal printed a short list of songs that mentioned superheroes, I made a site; href.li, to list every song that referenced superheroes. That site, in flip, got mentioned in Wizard. When certainly one of my favorite comics on the time, Cyberella (which was a sort of Max Headroom-meets-Disney cyberpunk tale), received canceled in 1997, I made a fansite for it full with timeline and FAQ page. The latter of which got me a barely annoyed letter from the comedian’s artist, Don Cameron, mentioning an error. It was the first letter I might gotten from a creator about my websites, but not the final.

Emoticons have an actual start date. On Sept. 19, 1982, a pc scientist named Scott Fahlman proposed on Carnegie Mellon College’s electronic bulletin board that posters put a smiley face with a colon, sprint and parenthesis if their comment was humorous. Sixties political activist Abbie Hoffman was cheeky as standard when naming his information to governmental overthrow. The e book was banned in Canada, and plenty of shops within the United States refused to hold it for fear the title would prompt clients to shoplift. Had they carried the e book, it will’ve been banned for other causes — Hoffman describes easy methods to make a pipe bomb, steal credit score cards, and grow marijuana.
