The judges on the Masked Singer were not the only ones surprised by ‘s appearance on the hit reality show as social media users also were left polarized by the conservative politician’s unmasking.
Giuliani, 77, was unmasked during a Wednesday taping of the Fox program which caused a stir of controversy among the judges with Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke leaving the stage.
The other celebrity judges, Jenny McCarthy and , remained onstage.
The highly popular singing show features celebrities competing while dressed in intricate costumes and face masks to disguise their real appearance.
Social media users criticized the network as well as the other judges for their reaction to the unmasking of Giuliani, who is considered a controversial political figure due to his alliance with former President Trump and his claims that the 2020 election had been ‘stolen’.
Judges Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke received a hot and cold reception for their swift exit following Giuliani’s reveal.
‘The Masked Singer had the audacity to put felonious traitor Rudy Giuliani on air even though on air even though he’s under a major federal criminal investigation,’ @TheRickyDavila said.
‘It was so bad that Ken Jeong and yes even Robin Thicke walked out and off the set in protest.

Many joked about the selection of the divisive political figure in light of the controversial reveals.

I feel loved,’ comedian Billy Eichner tweeted in light of the controversy surrounding Goldberg who was suspended from her position from The View in light of her comments about the Holocaust.

This is not the first time that The Masked Singer has sparked controversy over its choice of contestants.
Republican politician and former Alaska governor Sarah Palin was unmasked after appearing on the show in 2020 as ‘Bear.’
She was eliminated after performing a rendition of Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Baby Got Back.
Though Palin, 57, described the experience as ‘the weirdest thing I’ve ever done,’ she praised the show for inviting a conservative contestant into the mix.
‘It’s all about fun. It’s unity.This is all good. This is something that our country needs right now,’ she to host Nick Cannon.
News of Giuliani’s involvement in the upcoming season of The Masked Singer comes after former impeachment witness Lt.Col. Alexander Vindman filed a suit against he and Donald Trump. Jr. on Wednesday, charging them with falsely attacking his loyalty to the U.S. and punishing him for his testimony.
