Know what you need to get the part off and take those tools. Take some extra tools, too, so you can take off anything that has to come off to get to your part. You just never know. You can carry your tool box or bag around with you. They don’t care.

Inspect the inside part of the tires. See if there is evidence of previous repairs such as patches or plugs. If the tire has too many patches, leave it and go find another one. Sieve-like tires won’t help saving your money. You’ll end up spending your budget to repair the damaged tires.

How old are your tires? If you can’t even remember when you bought them, chances are they’re getting pretty bald. In order to have great traction on the road, you need plenty of tire tread. Without ample tread, you won’t be able to control your vehicle as easily; you can slip and slide when you’re trying to stop or turn corners. Head over to the tire shop and replace them before you leave. If it turns out they’re still okay, make sure they’re filled with air and balanced.

Cooling fan and heater core – a cooling fan sounds like something important, and it is. But the heater core is just as important for your cooling system (sounds funny?). That’s because the heater core keeps your coolant from leaking out all over the place. You don’t want a busted heater core.

Also be sure to find out if the store will match a competitors price. Some tire dealers will offer to match a competitors price in which you can leverage later on to your advantage to finding the best deal on tires.

athens bmw Save your contacts and tell people where you are going – this is something most people forget. We rely on our phones to store information, but what happens if you drop your phone in that lake you’re camping by? Back up important contact information in multiple places – online (send yourself an email?) and write them down in a notebook. Make photocopies of your driver’s license and credit cards too, while you’re at it. And always let someone know where you’re going. Let them know where you’re going and when you plan to be in what area. Simple common sense (which isn’t so common these days).

Before you remove the bed, either off of a truck at the junkyard or off of your personal truck, there are a few things you need to do first. Unbolt the gas cap and line first. Almost every truck has the fuel access running into the bed of the truck, so that is where you typically start first. After that, you need to remove the grounding strap that goes from the cab of the truck to the bed. Both of these items are easy to remove. As well, you need to disconnect the light from the back of the truck bed. The lights should have some quick disconnect places so that they can be disconnected with little effort.

It is extremely crucial to maintain your tires. It is important to note that tire rotation is crucial for the life of your tires. It is likely that your car will wear each tire a little differently. Perhaps on one corner, the inside tread wears a little more quickly than the outside, or vice versa. By rotating the tires on a regular basis, the tires wear more easily and will have a longer life. This is a good thing to do not only to get the best use out of your tires, but also for safety. You really don’t want one tire wearing down completely, while the other ones are okay. So, while inspecting your tires, don’t just check the tread one tire, check for wear on all four tires.
