FELINE STOMATITIS/LPGS

Feline Stomatitis can also be known as Lymphocyte Plasmacytic Gingivitis Stomatitis (LPGS). LPGS is an extreme disorder of the oral cavity in specific cats. These cats develop an allergic response to the plaque around the teeth of theirs. CAUSE

The specific cause is unknown. These cats are negative for Feline Leukemia and The diet and immunodeficiency Virus is not a consideration. Calici Virus has been discovered but its significance isn’t known. Specific purebreds including Abyssinians, Persians, Himalayans, Burmese, Siamese and Somali are prone.

SYMPTOMS

* Bad breath.

* Difficulty chewing food which is hard (may only eat soft food).
