No doubt your friend who learned Illustrator a few years ago is now impressed by some of the new features in CS6. You can still drag now and drop, but a 3D Object palette is now built into the main window and provides a fluid, easy way to create a 3D text or shape, a new tool that is the counterpart to the previously available Puppet tools. You have many new tools like Trace Gesture, Clipping Mask, Smart Scale, and more. And you can now work with shape files in Photoshop, something you couldn’t do before.

Two-way exporting is a wonderful iPad feature, although it’s not yet perfect. Yes, you can import photos and videos into Photoshop, but not all services and apps support two-way importing or exporting. A Jump Cut dialog, which lets you jump easily between photos in an image, is a nice feature, too.

However, I was disappointed that the iPad Pro still can’t play video files natively. There’s no video-format support for the new iPad and no way for the program to play off of a USB, as it does for the original iPad and iPad Mini.

Tabbed artboards make it easier to manage multiple projects. You can now manage your projects outside of the Photoshop file, and a tab for each project opens in Photoshop as you open it. The use of these unique manipulation tools make the process of editing and creating the image easier and effective. There are three types of masking tools. They are selection masking tools, fill masking tools, and adjustment masking tools. The selection masks are used when you need to clean up the area that you want to edit. A fill tool automatically fills the missing area with the desired color. The third type of masking is the adjustment mask.
