The paper also considers the views of the individual Member States on citizenship and citizenship in the context of their relationship with media systems. This study presents an overview of different theoretical positions. In particular, the paper explores the relationship of media citizenship to issues of language and the relationship between nation and citizenship. It also draws upon the work of previous authors to highlight the ways in which the concept of media citizenship has developed and evolved in the scholarly and media literature.
