JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) – Democrats who are seeking to flip the Alaska Legislature from Republican to Democratic control have reported raising more than $3 million, although they still have yet to file their campaign finance reports.

The party reported collecting $2.72 million during the first half of the year, including a $250,000 collection this month. Contributions from around the state topped $1.6 million, and another $500,000 came from out of state.

The Senate Finance Committee is expected to approve a campaign finance report later this week, while the House report is being finalized.

Senate President Lisa Brown said it still is not clear whether the races will be competitive enough to raise the funds needed, with Democratic incumbents facing a crowded primary field.

Joking about it is like trying to have a conversation about something you care little about. You may think it’s funny to know how a particular issue or point of view play out in a game, but there’s really no point when it’s all so stale and stagnant.
