kashyap’s script is populated with memorable characters and memorable one-liners, and he has also managed to weave in some of the best cinematography seen on indian screens this year. but my biggest issue with gangs of wasseypur is its lack of a strong narrative. it is episodic, and as the film progresses, you begin to wonder how it will ever end.
i would give it 4 stars if i could. the best thing about the movie is that it is not like the other movies. gow is the only movie in this series that makes you think. it is not just a revenge tale about gangs and honor. it is a story about love, loss, grief, revenge, honor and justice. i feel its not just a movie but a saga like the novel it is based on.
gow is the best of the bunch. it has the right amount of action and emotion to last you through the movie. you can feel the blood on your hands after watching gow. if you ever get a chance to see it, don’t miss it.
the movie is good in parts. but the ending is very poor. i felt the story was lacking a proper closure. the movie had some clever twists in it. some characters were very interesting. but the movie ran for about 2.5 hours without any break. the cinematography also was decent. but some of the background score was very stale.
this is a revenge story about gangs. but the plot is rather thin, it just comes down to a revenge tale about some gangs. the story is about nothing except revenge. there is too much going on in the background.
gangs of wasseypur 3 is the third installment of the popular gangster franchise. i like how the author has made some changes to the previous two films. in the earlier films, the protagonist shahid khan was played by salman khan. however, in this film, he is played by nawazuddin siddiqui. the screenplay is quite decent and the action sequences are quite enjoyable. however, the character development suffers quite a lot. it looks like he has no real emotions. i feel that the character is just being portrayed without any emotions, which is quite disappointing.
