The St.Paul, Minnesota native said her doctor ‘did a great job and removed a lot of bone spurs and scar tissue,’ and she hopes she can now ‘straighten [her] leg fully’ moving forward.

Vonn said of the procedure: ‘This is my last step before getting a knee replacement… hoping this will hold me over for a year or two until I get the big surgery.Ahhh the price we pay to do what we love. Still worth it though.’

She added, ‘Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. Means a lot. See you on the mat and the slopes soon!’

The Minnesota-born athlete shared an image of her bandaged leg following the procedure, as well as a shot of her testing the knee on a cycle.

Vonn has been dealing with injury-related issues for years, which led to her retirement from competitive skiing in February of 2019.

She said in an Instagram post at the time: ‘Despite extensive therapy, training and a knee brace, I am not able make the turns necessary to compete the way I know I can. My body is broken beyond repair and it isn’t letting me have the final season I dreamed of.My body is screaming at me to STOP and it’s time for me to listen.’

At the time, she said that she wasn’t upset by retirement, but rather not reaching all of her goals.

‘However, I can look back at 82 World Cup wins, 20 World Cup titles, 3 Olympic medals, 7 World Championship medals and say that I have accomplished something that no other woman in HISTORY has ever done, and that is something that I will be proud of FOREVER!’ she said.

Vonn seemed to be on the mend following the procedure, as she took to Instagram Stories on Monday looking stunning as she used a crutch for PTS Terbaik ASEAN support.
