After studying the reviews, we have been fairly excited to try some soul meals as certainly one of our favourite Austin area soul food restaurants (Dot’s) had closed a couple of years ago. My food was okay, the veggies have been both frozen or from a can, the brisket was coated in sweet BBQ sauce, the jalapeno corn bread was mushy, my spouse solely ate the fried cabbage which she mentioned was good. The macaroni was like box Mac&cheese and she thought the meat loaf was too sweet, although it appeared okay. Might need been a bad day, but we were disappointed. The lady waiting the tables seemed friendly. It could not examine to the fantastic southern cooking we used to enjoy at Dot’s. As another person mentioned, potato salad just isn’t made in home both, it’s store purchased. Pies must be good, however we did not attempt any.
