Shockwave 3D Lights Redux V12a

The car that marked the debut of the GT-R badge and sent shockwaves through the automotive manufacturing industry still felt to this day. The Nissan Skyline – Or Hakosuka to fans worldwide – immediately began scoring victories against competitors from the east to west, and set precedent for what was to become a lineage of one of the most beloved lines of cars ever produced. The 1971 Nissan Skyline Hardtop 2000 GT-R will be earnable in-game during the Unleash the Beast special event starting May 8 (AEST).

There are a lot of configuration options, allowing you to play with the way they look and work. The big thing is that the lights have lights that rotate in order to light up the 3D image of the airplane. The good news is, you can change the type of lights and make them the same type as your landing lights. The bad news is that they only react as you move the nose gear up or down. If you keep your nose gear up until 10,000 feet, the airplane will start picking up the lights. Because they are virtual lights, your nose gear can continue to spin up until you fully retract it, so if you want a non-rotating set of lights, you can configure a virtual set as well. The menu uses its own terminology for the lights, so if you are used to the X-Plane UI or similar, you may find the terminology confusing. For instance, «X Axis» is the rotational axis of the light, whereas «X» is the direction it will face on the plane, just like the nose gear position lines and the tower lights, and «X» Axis refers to the rotation of the light in that direction.The light model is pretty weak, with only 4 lights and a rotating light-cone. Pretty much everything else is based off the 757, and it works well. The plane comes with a landing pattern that matches a nice, smooth, simple landing, and at the moment is the only landing available for this game. The handling and animation are competent, even if very minimal, and it fits really well into the playbook of the games.Add as many of the lights you like as you like and configure the rotation of them. You can bend the light cones and have them split the light into multiple lights or they can curve in and produce lots of light where they touch the ground. Note that the nose gear will still turn the lights off and off.For the landing light I got to a point where I just made all of the lights 7.5% rotation, just enough to make the LED lights look nice but keep them looking like landing lights. I also added a nice slick styling where the flashing lights are joined by the three landing light beams. The lights look nice from inside the plane and out, and they seem to make the plane much easier to find on the map.For my own use I added the following lights and configuration. The extra lights are just there for looks.I added light, strobes, and beacons and installed the lights as follows: Lights: 7 landing lights, 3 strobe lights, 4 beacons 4 nav lights, 2 cockpit lights, 2 wing lights. Rotating Beacon: fx_shockwave_beacon_rotating_red.1 in the airport.Strobe: 4 fx_shockwave_strobe_4.0 in the airport.Beacons: 1 fx_shockwave_beacon_1.0 in the airport.Nav lights: fx_shockwave_nav_lights.2 in the airport.

s_cabin[planes].cfg Search for the [LIGHTS] section and replace the current [LIGHTS] section with the one provided here. If the new section is on this page simply add the additions below it and the aircraft.cfg file should now load correctly. If the additions are below the existing [LIGHTS] then simply copy and paste the additions. Not all planes have the [LIGHTS] section. You may have to remove and re-add the [LIGHTS] section to ensure that it is saved.
LIGHTS.CFG Open the LIGHTS.CFG file and search for the [LIGHTS] section. This is the area that controls the lights. If your aircraft is listed in this database check the entries to see if it is a FULL or PARTIAL listing (a FULL listing will start at light.0 to light.xx while a PARTIAL listing will start at say light.10 to light.xx). If it is a FULL listing simply replace your existing [LIGHTS] section with the new one. If it is a partial listing then ADD the listing on this page to the bottom of your [LIGHTS] section ensuring that the additions follow in the correct numerical order (light.9, light.10, light.11, etc.)

Here’s the details of the Superbird in 3D garage view. The red flickers from the headlamps on or off, the yellow flashes are brake lights, a flashing blue light means you’re using traction control, a red flashing light means you’re in manual mode. It’s handy if you get lost. You can also see that there’s a stone grille which comes with all Superbirds.
