To determine the value of your gold, you’ll need your math skills and a scale (preferably one of the type used by jewelers, but a kitchen scale will work as well). Most dealers and refineries transact gold on a pennyweight basis, so if you’re using a kitchen scale, you’ll need to convert from grams or ounces. One ounce is the same as 20 pennyweights, and 1.5 grams is equal to one pennyweight. Once you have weighed your scrap gold, check the spot price. That figure is in ounces, so divide it by 20 for its pennyweight value or by 31.1 for its gram value. Keep in mind that the spot price is for pure gold; scrap is never pure (24 karats). You won’t get the entire spot price, but you’ll have a rough estimate of your profit.

Most salvage companies have «hot lines» that connect them with other companies. These are used to transfer information, such as requests for specific car parts. That means that you don’t have to hop from salvage yard to salvage yard in search of your car parts. You can simply check out a single salvage yard. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they’re likely to find it from another dealer via the hot line.

If you do not have another vehicle you can use while yours is in the shop, you may want to ask about courtesy cars. Larger garages and chain stores may offer courtesy cars you can drive while they fix yours. Find out if there is a charge for this, or if it is included in the cost of the repairs.

Most people generally think owning a scrap yard is the only way to make the real money with recycled metals. However industry consistently has a need to dispose of old equipment and materials. Sourcing these large supplies of metal junk can be as simple as finding nearby demolitions, office closures, manufacturing plant shutdowns, vehicle wrecks, etc. Many of these individuals and companies will gladly pay YOU to remove their «junk». Not only can you receive a removal fee, but you will also receive the scrap value at your local yard.

Most people make only a few scrap gold trades in their life and unless you understand the rules of the game it’s likely you will lose. In every trade there are winners and there are losers. The category you end up in usually depends on the amount of knowledge you bring to the table.

Have on hand 6 good quality and straight 2×4’s – 8′ long on hand. They can be purchased for about $2.00 each at your home improvement store. You will also need a drill with a #2 phillips head and one box of 2 1/2″ course thread dry wall screws. Finally find some old 1 x lumber from your old material resource or you can use new 1×6 fence board of redwood or cedar purchased for about $2.00 per 6′ board at your home improvement store. You will need 4 pieces of 1×6 – 6′ long.

It seems to be a bit absurd to have all of these websites featuring multiple Yamaha ATV parts at significant savings. It’s a mad grab for the best price with the most significant savings. I have been going through a lot of these sites looking for great deals. I prefer to do this instead of going to dealerships and sail boat charters looking for the best deals. I would rather go to a specialist site than have to deal with Amazon or eBay although those sites are options to consider. My personal experience has shown me that I have had better luck dealing with specialist sites. The reason is because I can ask questions when dealing with a knowledgeable sales person. As a sports junkie I have a lot of specific questions.

First off, if you have a wholesaler’s license, and have an active account with merchants who do sell gold, silver and gold filled metal, wire and findings, then they usually have a way for their customers to send them their scrap for either a credit for future metal buys, or will give you a check, which will usually be for less than the credit you would receive if you took the credit.
