Last August 1-4, 2022, Joel Barish hosted the 4th DeafNation World Expo & Conference at the Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The expo attracted roughly 15,000 Deaf people from around the world, which include Deaf celebs such as Daniel Durant, Renca Dunn. Troy Kotsur, and Wawa joined the event. There were about one hundred booths and 45 performances. There were also a number of Deaf enterprises offering shirts, arts, as well as other merchandise. There was also a Kick-Off Party with Wawa 10th Anniversary at Chateau Rooftop.

One particular participant said she was amazed by how many people attended the event. Another deaf participant said it was his 2nd time to attend the DeafNation Expo and that he saw a lot of types of art that expressed the Deaf community.
