Few things are more dangerous than not being able to stop your car or slow down. Have you noticed any squeaky sounds or odd smells when you apply the brakes? Then head to the auto repair shop as soon as possible. You’re putting your life and all others on the road in grave danger if your brakes go out. Unusual sounds, sights, and smells are red flags of trouble brewing. If your car doesn’t seem to stop as easily as it used to, that is a message to get your brakes fixed.

Reattach the nuts. Screw them on by hand, and then use the tire iron to tighten them up as much as possible. Really put your back into it. Do not under any circumstances stand on the tire iron to tighten them up. If you have a big tire iron or your piece of pipe you should have all the leverage you need.

Look at your tires and if the tread is wearing have them looked at. Proper wheel balancing and alignment will keep your tires in good shape. Bad shocks and struts will wear your tires out fairly quickly. Tires have a lot to do with controlling your car.

lexus sacramento Yesterday, I observed an irrational customer. After experiencing my second tire blow out in 5 months the day before, it was definitely time for a new set of tires on my SUV. While waiting on my car to be brought into the bay, I sat at the customer counter and typed away at future blogs posts for the coming weeks.

You will attract what you believe, or have on the inside. In other words, the metal in your soul is like a magnet, it will attract things with like properties.

The air pressure of the tires must be checked regularly especially when the weather and outdoor temperature make for challenging driving conditions as in the case of extreme heat and extreme cold. This must be done periodically to ensure the best performance of the tires at all times. Under-inflation of the tires in an effort to reduce costs may actually lead to internal damage that cost even more to fix.

Buy your tires from a local dealer. I know it’s tempting to buy those shiny new tires from an online store. It costs a little less up front, especially since you don’t pay sales tax with some vendors. Ahh, but the other costs still get you. You have shipping. Then you have installation. And…if you didn’t happen to buy the tires from the shop that installs them, they probably won’t rotate your tires for free. Say «goodbye» to $40 every 5K miles.

Similarly, you could also junk a car by typically junking it in a junkyard. They accept damaged cars. The good thing with the junkyard is that they pay you according to the weight of your vehicle. That means the heavier the vehicle, the higher the cash and vice versa. Junkyard dealers accept these cars because they sell the auto parts. For them, they don’t see any need for a owner to buy new auto parts when used ones can also do. It is also a better way of junking a car rather than taking it to be of no good use. It is irritating to see a vehicle in your compound every morning, yet it is worthless.

In an effort to minimize cost, some people try using snow tires only on the drive wheels of their vehicle. This is an ineffective and possibly dangerous solution. This may give you the confidence in certain situations of having control however this is an illusion and the false confidence may lead to reckless results. Putting snow tires in the front on a front wheel drive may allow better starts and stopping but it places you in danger of fishtailing around turns. The rear wheels will not have sufficient traction to handle the turns your front wheels initiate. Similarly and possibly more dangerous, putting snow tires on the rear wheels of a rear wheel drive car will allow better starts but will do nothing for steering or braking. It is always advised to install snow tires in a complete set of four.
