Some salvage yards send customers to look for their own parts and some of them can tell you exactly what they have in stock. If you go to a yard that requires you to find your own replacement parts take along a friend, a tape measure, and a cell phone. There are a lot of junk cars in the big lots and you are going to need to make sure you do not get lost or injured while you are looking through them all. Since you will not know the system the business uses to store these vehicles it will be easy for you to get confused and miss the ones that might contain what you need.

As beginner’s luck would have it, we came upon a rattlesnake before we reached the nissan car parts. It was minding it’s own business, eating a mouse. Cindy saw it first. She started barking. The snake’s rattles made a weird noise, kind of like rustling leaves, but different. Robert stepped right up beside it and pushed his Y stick behind the snake’s head. It would have worked except the prongs were too long and the surprised viper quickly crawled around the stick and up toward Robert’s hand. Fortunately, its mouth was full. Robert dropped his Y stick, demanding mine. No objection was heard from his little brother. Having already, wet my pants, I was more than happy to give it over.

Maybe you are the do-it-yourselfer. Then salvage title cars are just for you. You can get excellent deals on cars and feed your addiction to cars by fixing it up. You can even get parts from your dealer or from a local salvage yard.

So if you need a spare part and can’t seem to find one in your local auto part store, then you would do yourself a favor to check a junk yard where you can get salvage parts. You may have to search several junkyards but it sure beats having to order a spare part from a manufacturer as well as make financial sense.

If you are still not sure about an auto parts sales site, take some time to research the company. Feel free to ask about them at the Better Business Bureau in their region. Do a quick Google of their company name and see what others are saying. Sometimes it is worth paying a few dollars extra to buy from a company you know.

Stand the door up straight (lean it against a wall) and measure the distance from the top of the horizontal table top frame to the bottom of the door. Cut two 2×4’s at this length. These will be the front legs of your potting bench. Screw the front legs of the potting bench to the corners of the frame at the front. Put 2 screws into the front of the legs and 2 screws into the side.
