A gerotor motor star has six teeth and seven lobes. The spaces amongst them are pressure chambers. Pump fluid flows into these pockets, creating high pressure in one chamber and low stress in one other. This creates an imbalance of forces, which causes the gerotor motor star to rotate, or orbit.

The clutches in the transmission are slightly extra complicated. On this transmission there are 4 clutches. Every clutch is actuated by pressurized hydraulic fluid that enters a piston inside the clutch. Springs ensure that the clutch releases when the stress is diminished. Below you can see the piston and the clutch drum. Discover the rubber seal on the piston — this is among the components that’s replaced when your transmission gets rebuilt.

To make the most of the new increased-performance tires and for better directional management in hard stops, front suspension geometry was reworked to incorporate «zero scrub radius.» This implies a steering axis that intersects the street at the exact middle of the tire’s contact patch, slightly than outboard (constructive scrub radius), as on previous Corvettes, or inboard of it (damaging scrub radius) as on some European cars.
