We set out to build a «Grim Fandango»-like game, because it’s a style of game that we
liked. We wanted to make a minimalist style game, while adding the features of a simple RPG.
Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches is a game with a unique art style, developed by Aurora
Interactive Systems. This is the first Rhiannon game.

Grim Fandango—-Like Story
In Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches, you play a cursed princess from the kingdom of
Valeria who is trying to get her kingdom back from an evil ruler. The evil ruler is a
derelict from the underworld and terrorizes the land. He takes over the palace and turns it into
a hellish place. He’s a demon, and he’s hellbent on ruling the whole world and taking its
resources. He uses his power and magic to extract the souls from the people and make them
serve him. He fills his palace with a collection of those souls and people who have
«forfeited» their destiny. He also turned the maids and other servants into servants of
hell. They work as his slaves, and are not allowed to go home.
What the hero should do?
Princess Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches is a unique RPG-style fairy-tale adventure with
an interesting plot, great music, and graphics that will take your breath away. In order to win
the war you must enter the grand hall of the evil tyrant, the ruler of this gloomy land. And to
do so, you must have luck on your side…
To begin you will need to unlock the gate and enter into the grand hall. It’s not easy to
pass. You’ll have to find out who the real hero is, and the way to do that is to decipher the
badges of your companions. The more you enter the castle, the more your companions will
unlock the levels. You should unlock them in a timely manner because time is ticking.

projectM is an interactive software for visualizing and editing equations through music. users can manipulate and work with equations, and they can see the results play back in the form of visuals in response to the music. These visuals can be edited on-the-fly to create new artforms.
ProjectM is based on inverse problems. This means that equation operators and music can be combined to create music-visual transformations that result in complex and unique visualizations.
ProjectM’s first aim was to create a system for visualizing and working with relations through music, but its implementation is powerful enough to make the tool useful for a wider range of projects.
Inverse problems
To create an image that’s responsive to a musical source, we must transform that music into an equation that represents the output of a mathematical function. By inverting the equation, the result is an equation that represents an input function for a mathematical function.
Many artistic tools are based on equations, such as algorithms used to generate fractals, for example. In principle, if the inverse operator is invertible, any mathematical function can be implemented this way.
The power of inverse operators
That is how we are able to use audio to manipulate equations in projectM. For example, we can combine audio and the mathematical equation that represents the output of another equation, then feed both to the inverse operator.
This process works the other way too: audio can be fed through a mathematical equation that represents an input function. In this case, the result represents a transformation of the audio.
An audio source that’s transformed by an inverse operator, can also be composed with other audio sources to create new visualizations. Such compositions can create an output sound that may be entirely unidentifiable as such, and a complex system of filters and transformations must be applied to discover the source.
Unwrapping audio
What kind of audio transformations can we make? We can, for example, transform audio into different frequency ranges. This results in new material that is ready to play back as video. All we need is a video player that supports audio as input.
Explore complex transformations
Audio can be mapped to one or more frequency bands or to ranges of tones and we can compose input and output through different operators. For example, we can use a filter on the output of one operator and pass that output through an inverse operator.
This creates audio that’s rich with sound effects.
