even without the exhibit, i still enjoyed the arts and culture of the museum. in the exhibit gallery, there is a treasure box of persian (southern song dynasty) ceramics and antiquities. there is also a book by stephen k salisbury on chinese art and culture. the objects in the treasure box are very old, from about 800 to 1300. they are not museum-quality, but that does not detract from the value. they are beautiful objects to look at.
dynasty warriors 6 (dynasty warriors 6 zhen ji) is in english for pc. it is a strategy game played by playing out a series of battles, using heroes to fight others as you do battle. each of the four playable characters has a very different play style, which you must master in order to become the best player.
the goals of the game are to beat your opponents to the finish line. the game uses a five versus five format, but uses large scale battles with hundreds of soldiers. in order to win, you must first earn more powerful fighters. after each defeat, you are given the opportunity to purchase new heroes from the warrior market. each of these new fighters has its own health, movement, and attack styles. as your soldiers are defeated, they turn from red to grey to yellow and finally black. the last one will be dead.
each playable character has three unique abilities. these abilities are acquired through leveling up, in which you earn experience points by killing your enemies. as you level up, you are able to buy new abilities such as the ability to double-jump or to hold the enemy in one place so that another character can attack them. there are nine playable characters. they are wei, wu, shu, han, jin, li, zhao, qi, and chen.
the game uses extensive combos, meaning that you are able to use three different attacks at once. if all three of the fighters on the battlefield have three combos or more, then you will get a bonus. if one of the fighters is stronger than the other two, you are able to execute an “earth” or “sky” (using the characters’ ground or air moves) combo. if that is not enough, there is “fire” or “wind”. if the fighters have “fire” and “wind”, then the combo is “earth” “sky” “fire” “wind”. if you manage to do this combo, you win. with the exception of chen, each character has at least two unique combos.
