There are two components: to encrypt and decrypt messages. Specially made for systems running Windows 8, 8.1 or 10, Secure Messages can be obtained from the Windows Store. After installation, you can pin it to your Start Screen or Menu to run the encrypting tool like any other Metro app.
Input messages to encrypt or decrypt on the spot
The main window has a green background and empty box for typing or pasting messages in either encrypted or decrypted form.
Once you press the buttons to encrypt or decrypt it, the application calculates the output right away and shows it below. You can copy it to the Clipboard with one click.
Supports large text
This action copies the content displayed on the bottom part of the window (the one overlaying the green background). Therefore, you can either copy the AES-encrypted message or original text.
According to our tests, the encryption program supports even large text. Although it doesn't show the complete code or decrypted message when handling large content, if you copy and paste it into a text editor, you'll see the entire text.
Furthermore, it's possible to take a screenshot and share the image using another installed Modern UI app.

Installing Secure Messages
To install the app, you have to fill out the blanks on the page, entering your Windows username, password and email address. That’s it. Then you have to agree to the license terms before hitting the «Install» button.
How to Use Secure Messages
After installing and launching the app, you’ll find a window with the main interface, where you can enter messages to encrypt or decrypt. Once you confirm and enter the keys, the program calculates the AES algorithm and outputs the decrypted text instantly. It’s fully compatible with the Modern UI (Metro) and Windows 8.
To encrypt a message, select the square icon on the top-right part of the app’s main interface. The app shows a prompt with a Yes/No option asking you if you’re sure you want to encrypt the message. Then you enter the message and press Enter to submit it.
Just as the original one, Secure Messages supports large text. To copy the text from the main window, click the right mouse button and choose «Paste». This action will transfer only the encrypted content to the Clipboard.
To decrypt a message, just select the square icon on the top-right part of the app’s main interface. Similar to the encryption process, you enter the message and press Enter to submit it.
After confirming, you’ll see a message saying that the decrypted text is being shown on the bottom part of the main interface, as well as the content of the decrypted text. Just click the right mouse button and choose «Copy».
So basically, Secure Messages is a great option for sending encrypted messages, but it has some limitations. For example, it can’t be customized according to your requirements and can only encrypt or decrypt a message, the latter outputting only a partial text. However, the developer promises to add more features to the app in the future.
The program does support large messages, although it doesn’t show the entire contents in the app’s main window. You can paste the decrypted text from the bottom of the window to a text editor, or copy it to the Clipboard, as seen in the following screen grabs.
